APPEARANCE Sydney Maddox, who commonly goes by Ms. Maddox during school hours, knows how to walk the very thin line of appropriate conduct and following the somewhat conservative dress code for teachers. To her, however, there is nothing wrong with a somewhat short skirt. And she always passes the pesky ruler test that the principals try to throw at her. PERSONALITY Sydney Maddox is a complicated, complex individual when you get down to it. She puts on a front that everyone sees, but there's a little bit more to her than just being the slutty faculty member that somehow never gets fired. She lives for the thrill of practically anything; a good murder mystery novel, the feeling of falling from a plane just before pulling your parachute cord, and the thrill of the hunt. That's by far her favorite feeling in the world; knowing that she can wrap any guy around her finger without him fully realizing it's going down (or even noticing and just not giving a shit). On top of that, she loves playing hard to get after she finally gets what she wants, and she takes pride in being 'that girl.'
She can be quiet and reserved when it's required of her (the days at school are so long), but she knows when to let her hair down. Besides, the stacks have just been begging for something to go down between their dusty shelves. Who better than their primary caretaker?

PERSONAL HISTORY From a young age, Sydney knew what she wanted. Her pre-pubescent years were relatively calm, though she did manage to throw fits and use the puppy dog eyes when necessary. Being the youngest of three with extremely doting parents didn't make it too difficult to accomplish her goal, but any opposition she faced was merely a chance for her to hone her verbal skills. And from a young age, the ultimate goal was to get the hell out of Paradigm.
Once she hit puberty? She didn't need those skills nearly as much. She had curves by age twelve and a crowd of boys soon followed. They were all curious to see what was so special about Sydney. True, there were a few girls that teased her and tried to make her life a living hell, but when it was all said and done Sydney was the one who had the boyfriends and was having all the fun and they were merely jealous of the fact. But despite being able to court men left and right to manipulate something out of them, she never actually did anything with any of them...despite all those rumors.
In high school she was a bit of a queen bee; she wasn't the main ring leader, but she did have a small group of girls who wanted to be close to her. Perhaps they did so to try and learn her tricks, or they were unable to get attention from the cheerleaders. Either way, Sydney didn't mind. She could use those verbal skills to manipulate and pull them into doing what she wanted either way. As in middle school, Sydney continued to be popular with the boys. The quarterback may have been on the cheerleader captain's mind, but his definitely wasn't on her (another reason why Sydney wasn't always received well with them). Don't let her forget about the geeks! Those were the guys who really helped her out. Papers often went untouched, tests went without preparation...it was very convenient, then, that she was welcomed with open arms by these guys.
Leaving the comfort of Paradigm for New York City had always been part of the plan, and as soon as she had her diploma in her hand, she set off for school at NYU. She studied college professors and English, among other things. It wasn't quite as easy for her to wrap the co-eds around her finger and it took some time for her to hone her skill but she eventually got there. She tried to study while in college, tried to make the "normal" approach at academics and for the most part Sydney was successful. She'd loved reading since she was young and being in classes that demanded a heavy amount of that and essays was completely agreeable for her. This trend continued as she earned her master's in library sciences and technology at Drexel University in Philly.
And wouldn't you know it, but the elderly librarian, Mrs. Billings, passed away during the summer of 2010! Sydney had absolutely no intention of returning to Paradigm after she set off, but the pay was certainly better than what she was earning in Philly and it wouldn't be so bad to be back home, to see old friends and just catch up by slowing down the pace of her life. So there she was, filling up the void that had been unexpectedly created in the Paradigm High library. Now her life is spent helping hormonal teenagers find study materials...the double entendre there being completely intentional.
OTHER INFORMATIONHer breasts have hypnotic powers--and they can predict when it's raining Nope! She's just your run of the mill man-eating, gold digging, smoking hot vixen.
STORYLINES The King: The guy that's the ultimate goal for Sydney.
The Knights: These are the guys who keep her company day in and day out. They're not the end-all by any means, but they keep her bed warm and herself comfortable.
The Bishops: These are the girls with whom she's close. Can be students or otherwise, but she can easily spend time around them.
The Rooks: Sydney views these girls as her rivals. They're pesky and get in the way of her plans and overall she just wants to smash them to little pieces. These will be the female students that are constantly yelled at for being "too loud" in the library, and finding themselves with some sort of after school library duty for not following directions (even if none were given).
The Pawns: There's absolutely no interest in these folks, they're just an easy way for this queen to get what she wants. If they get hurt in the end? Eh, it's easy to replace them.
